C.J. Laing was born Wendy Miller on August 1, 1956 in New York City. She first became involved in the adult cinema business while living in San Francisco in a series of loops called "Juke Joint" made by the Mitchell Brothers of Behind the Green Door (1972) fame. After returning to New York, Lang appeared in her first theatrical adult feature in 1975 while still in her late teens.
