Biography

Jānis Streičs was a renowned Latvian film director. He was the master of Latvian cinematic stories, an expert on the national mentality, and no stranger to good-hearted irony and humour. His national comedies earned him an unwavering popularity. Streičs' 1991 comedy film Cilvēka bērns was the runner-up for the Chicago International Children's Film Festival Rights of the Child Award in 1994.
