Seyit and Sura both grieve over the confusion that has beset their new relationship, but they do so separately while others plan separate futures for them. Just as they resolve the misunderstandings, Seyit must leave to serve at the front.

At home, country and city, the rebels are becoming more and more bold. Families apply pressure to assure that desirable marriages are arranged and Sura comes under attack and criticism for her love of Seyit.

Refugees simply looking for safety and family, others want to continue a battle that began elsewhere and some are determined to get the best for themselves no matter who suffers. Seyit and Sura are tossed about trying to land on their feet.
